01Concept build — Home services
Naperville, IL

Meridian Plumbing & Heating

A fictional home services business, built out properly so you can judge our work without us claiming credit for anyone else’s. Every design decision on it has a reason, and the reasons are written down below.

Art direction

Bright, plain, trustworthy. Trade blue and amber, enormous phone number, design that gets out of the way.

02The brief we set ourselves

What this industry actually gets wrong.

  • Emergency customers pick whoever answers first — usually not you
  • Leads arrive on five different channels and get lost
  • Quotes take two days to go out and the job is already gone
  • Competing against national lead-gen sites that resell the same lead four times
03The response

What the build does about it.

  • Emergency-first layout: call button above everything, 24/7 status honest
  • Service area pages that can rank for each town you cover
  • Instant lead response and routing so nothing sits unanswered
  • Quote pipeline with automatic follow-up until the customer answers
04Conversion decisions

Every choice on the page, and why it is there.

This is what separates a website from a system. The same notes are available inside the demo itself, in the panel at the bottom right.

01Hero headline
Names the emergency and answers the only question that matters in it. Emergency customers do not read, they scan for a phone number.
02Call as primary CTA
Inverted from the other demos. In home services the phone is the conversion, so the form is demoted to second place.
03Licence number in the eyebrow
Trust signal placed above the fold because the alternative is a stranger in your house at 2am.
04Flat-rate promise
Removes the hourly-clock anxiety that makes people call three companies instead of booking one.
05Arrival ETA
Honest range rather than 'fast service'. Specific numbers are more persuasive and more defensible than adjectives.
06Service area list
Eight towns, eight indexable pages in the real build. This is the entire local SEO strategy for a trade with no storefront.
05Delivery notes
  • Speed to lead is the whole game. Missed-call text-back plus instant form auto-reply is worth more than any redesign.
  • Local Services Ads benchmark $39–$59 per lead — with a $4,000–$12,000 install ticket, the economics justify aggressive paid spend once tracking is honest.
  • This category is the strongest fit for the Automate package on the whole list.
Why the economics work
Average ticket
$300–$1,200 repair; $4,000–$12,000 install / replacement
Lifetime value
$2,000–$15,000 with maintenance plans
Market cost per lead
Local Services Ads $39–$59/lead (electrical $39, HVAC $51, plumbing $57, drain $59); Google Search $104 average, $149 non-branded
Usually
Automate

Highest ticket on the list and the highest tolerance for CPL. Speed-to-lead is the single biggest lever. Best fit for Automate.

This is a demonstration, not a client.

Meridian Plumbing & Heating does not exist. The reviews, ratings and prices on the demo are invented for the exercise. We built it so you can judge our work without us borrowing someone else’s.

The audit

Let's find the leak.

Five questions, about a minute. We look at your website, your local search presence and the path a customer actually takes — then send you the three biggest opportunities in writing.

No charge, no obligation, and you get it whether or not you ever hire us.
