Casa Verde Cantina
A fictional restaurant business, built out properly so you can judge our work without us claiming credit for anyone else’s. Every design decision on it has a reason, and the reasons are written down below.
Art direction
Warm editorial print. Reads like a menu — serif display, cream stock, terracotta, food at scale.
What this industry actually gets wrong.
- Menu is a PDF that will not open on a phone
- Reservations go through a platform that takes a cut of every cover
- Google shows the wrong hours on the day it matters most
- No way to capture a regular's email or run an offer
What the build does about it.
- Fast mobile menu that is real HTML, not a PDF
- Direct reservation flow that reduces platform commission
- Google Business Profile with menu, photos and correct holiday hours
- Events, catering and private-hire enquiry capture
Every choice on the page, and why it is there.
This is what separates a website from a system. The same notes are available inside the demo itself, in the panel at the bottom right.
- 01Hero headline
- Two audiences in one line: the diner gets speed, the owner gets the commission argument that justifies the project.
- 02Live availability
- Showing actual open times converts far better than a generic 'book now', and it is true, so it is not fake scarcity.
- 03HTML menu, not PDF
- The single most common conversion failure in this industry. A PDF menu on mobile loses customers before they read a dish.
- 04Private events section
- Covers are low margin. Private events and catering are where a restaurant site actually earns its cost — so it gets its own section and its own form.
- 05Direct booking framing
- Every direct reservation avoids a per-cover platform fee. That is the number that pays for the retainer, and it is measurable.
- 06Hours consistency
- Wrong holiday hours on Google is a real revenue leak. Managing that is a retainer deliverable, not a build task.
- Sell the catering and private-event pipeline, not the covers. That is where the margin is.
- Direct-vs-platform reservation split is the clearest ROI metric available in this industry — track it from day one.
- Google Business Profile photo and hours management belongs in the monthly retainer.
- Average ticket
- $25–$70 per cover; $400–$3,000 for catering and private events
- Lifetime value
- $600–$2,500/yr for a regular
- Market cost per lead
- $30.57 CPL, $2.05 average CPC
- Usually
- Growth
Low CPC but low margin per cover. The real money is catering, private events and direct reservations that avoid platform commission. Sell that, not covers.

This is a demonstration, not a client.
Casa Verde Cantina does not exist. The reviews, ratings and prices on the demo are invented for the exercise. We built it so you can judge our work without us borrowing someone else’s.
The audit
Let's find the leak.
Five questions, about a minute. We look at your website, your local search presence and the path a customer actually takes — then send you the three biggest opportunities in writing.
No charge, no obligation, and you get it whether or not you ever hire us.
